Privacy & AI Data Use

Last updated: July 18, 2026

This notice explains what Unstuckd.app ("Unstuckd", "we", "us") collects, why we use it, when information is sent to an AI provider, and the choices available to you. Unstuckd is an early-access productivity product, not a medical or mental-health service.

The short version

  • We collect the information needed to provide accounts, tasks, focus sessions, AI assistance, support, security, and billing.
  • Information you submit to an AI feature is sent to Anthropic's Claude API so that the feature can respond.
  • Anthropic states that data submitted through its commercial API is not used to train its models by default.
  • We do not sell personal information or use it for third-party advertising.
  • Avoid entering confidential, medical, financial, or other highly sensitive information into tasks or AI chats.
  • You can contact us about access, correction, or deletion through our Contact page.

1. Who this notice applies to

This notice applies to visitors to unstuckd.app and people who create or use an Unstuckd account. Unstuckd is the controller of the personal information described here. Questions and privacy requests can be sent through our Contact page.

2. Information we collect

Account and profile information

We process your email address, authentication information managed by Supabase, account identifier, plan status, assistant-tone preference, and Stripe customer identifier when applicable. Passwords are handled by Supabase authentication; Unstuckd does not receive your readable password.

Tasks and productivity information

We store information you choose to create in the product, including sessions, task titles, task steps and completion status, deadlines, focus time, and session summaries. Daily focus totals may remain after an individual session is ended so that the dashboard can show your accumulated focus time.

AI inputs and outputs

Depending on the feature you use, this may include task descriptions, task titles and steps supplied as context, chat messages, Focus Mode coach messages, focus duration, completion information, AI-generated task breakdowns, assistant replies, and session summaries.

Support information

If you contact us, we process your name, email address, message, account identifier when signed in, and our response. If the assistant offers a human handoff, no transcript is sent unless you actively consent; after consent, up to the latest 10 displayed chat messages are attached to the support request.

Billing information

Stripe processes payment and billing details for paid features. Unstuckd receives billing identifiers and subscription or payment status, but does not store full payment-card details.

Technical and security information

Our hosting, database, authentication, and security providers may process device, browser, request, diagnostic, and network information such as IP addresses. Unstuckd uses a salted one-way hash of an IP address for AI rate limiting and does not store the raw IP address in its AI usage-counter table. Infrastructure providers may still process raw IP addresses in their own security and access logs.

Device-local preferences

Some preferences are stored only in your browser, such as the dashboard display name, clock format, and the open, minimized, or docked assistant layout for a session.

3. How and why we use information

We use information to:

  • create and secure accounts;
  • save and display tasks, deadlines, sessions, focus totals, and preferences;
  • generate AI task breakdowns, chat replies, Focus Mode coaching for Pro users, and session summaries;
  • enforce plan limits, prevent abuse, troubleshoot failures, and protect the service;
  • respond to support requests and send service-related emails;
  • process purchases and manage paid access; and
  • understand basic service performance and meet legal obligations.

Where data-protection law requires a lawful basis, we generally rely on performing our agreement with you to provide the service, our legitimate interests in operating and securing Unstuckd, your consent for optional transcript sharing, and legal obligations relating to payments, fraud prevention, or valid requests from authorities. You may withdraw consent for a future optional sharing action by not approving it; withdrawing consent does not undo processing already lawfully completed.

4. How AI data is used

Unstuckd uses the Anthropic Claude API. When you choose an AI feature, we send only the information reasonably needed for that request—for example, your task description, recent chat messages, and limited current-task context. We do not send your password or full account database to the AI.

The persistent workspace assistant stores its conversation in Unstuckd's Supabase database so it can survive a refresh or reopening of the same session. Those messages are deleted from Unstuckd's active database when their session is ended and deleted. The Pro Focus Mode coach is ephemeral within Unstuckd and is not added to the persistent session-message history, although its messages are still processed by Anthropic to generate replies.

Anthropic states that chats submitted through its commercial offerings, including the API, are not used to train its models unless the commercial customer explicitly opts into a program that permits this. Unstuckd has not built a feature that opts your chats into model training. Anthropic also states that standard API inputs and outputs are automatically deleted from its backend within 30 days, subject to exceptions such as legal requirements, usage-policy enforcement, or a different agreed retention arrangement. See Anthropic's current commercial model-training explanation and API retention explanation.

Unstuckd does not use your task or chat content to train its own general-purpose AI model. We may inspect specific information when reasonably necessary to investigate a reported problem, respond to your support request, protect the service, or comply with law.

AI limitations and your responsibilities

AI responses can be inaccurate, incomplete, outdated, or inappropriate. Review important outputs before relying on them. Unstuckd is a productivity tool and its AI output is not medical, mental-health, legal, financial, or other professional advice. Do not use the service for emergencies. You are responsible for the information you submit and should not enter another person's private information unless you have a lawful reason to do so.

5. When we share information

We share information only as needed with service providers acting on our behalf or when legally required. Current provider categories include:

  • Supabase for database storage and authentication;
  • Anthropic for AI processing;
  • Vercel for application hosting and delivery;
  • Resend for account and support-related email;
  • Stripe for payment processing and subscription status; and
  • Cloudflare for domain, DNS, routing, and related network services.

These providers process information under their own terms and data-protection commitments. We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect users or the service, in connection with a business reorganisation, or with your direction or consent. We do not sell your personal information.

6. How long we keep information

We keep information only for as long as reasonably needed for the purposes above, taking account of account status, security, support, legal, and technical requirements.

  • Open sessions, their tasks, and persistent session chat remain available so you can resume your work. Ending a session deletes the session, its tasks, and its persistent messages from Unstuckd's active database.
  • Daily focus totals remain after session deletion to provide focus statistics.
  • AI breakdown records, usage counters, and security records may be retained for service limits, operations, abuse prevention, and troubleshooting. Minute-level rate-limit counters are operational data and are intended to be short-lived.
  • Contact messages and consented transcript handoffs are kept as needed to respond, maintain support history, prevent abuse, and meet legal obligations.
  • Account and profile information is kept while your account remains active and as needed afterward for legitimate legal, security, or billing purposes.
  • Payment providers retain billing records according to their own legal and operational requirements.

Backups and provider systems may take additional time to complete deletion. We may retain limited information where required by law, necessary to resolve disputes, or needed to prevent fraud or abuse.

7. Cookies and browser storage

Unstuckd and its providers use browser storage and may use strictly necessary cookies or similar technology for authentication, security, session continuity, and preferences. We do not currently use advertising cookies or third-party behavioural advertising trackers. If we add non-essential tracking in the future, we will update this notice and request consent where required.

Clearing browser storage may sign you out and reset device-local preferences such as your remembered display name, clock format, and assistant layout.

8. Security

We use reasonable technical and organisational safeguards, including authenticated access, database row-level security, server-side identity checks for AI requests, restricted service credentials, and rate limiting. No online system can guarantee absolute security, so please use a unique password and avoid submitting information you would not want exposed.

9. International processing

Unstuckd's providers may process information in countries other than your own. Where required, providers use recognised transfer safeguards such as adequacy decisions or standard contractual clauses. Provider locations and safeguards can change, so their current privacy documentation controls their processing.

10. Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access to, correction of, deletion of, restriction of, or portability of your personal information; object to certain processing; withdraw consent; and complain to your local data-protection authority. These rights can be limited by law and may require identity verification.

You can end individual sessions inside the product. For account-level requests or questions, use our Contact page and write "Privacy request" in your message. We will respond within the timeframe required by applicable law.

11. Children

Unstuckd is designed primarily for students but is not intended for children under 13. If local law requires parental or guardian consent for a young person to use an online service, that consent must be obtained. If you believe a child has provided personal information improperly, contact us so we can review and delete it where appropriate.

12. Changes to this notice

We may update this notice as Unstuckd develops. We will change the date at the top and provide additional notice when a change is material and applicable law requires it. The version published on this page is the current version.

13. Contact

For privacy questions, requests, or complaints, contact the Unstuckd team through the Contact page. You may also complain to the data-protection authority where you live.

This notice is intended to explain Unstuckd's current practices clearly. It is not a substitute for obtaining legal advice tailored to the countries where the service operates.
